Franklin "Frank" John Carr, 81, of Redfield, SD, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family and loved ones, on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Thursday, December 11, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Family will be present to accept condolences. A scriptural prayer service, time of sharing, and rosary will begin at 5:00 PM.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 12, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield. Reverend Brian Eckrich will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. After the burial, lunch will be served in the church fellowship hall.
Both the prayer service and funeral Mass will be live-streamed through a link on the funeral home's website below Frank's obituary. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).

Franklin John Carr was born on June 16, 1944, to Leslie and Ida (Heppler) Carr. He lived in Redfield all his life.
On June 10, 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Sarah Fountain, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield. They were happily married for 60 years. Together, Frank and Sarah had five children: Danny, Anna, Jeff, Kerry, and Craig.
He attended school in Redfield. During the summer months, he worked for his brother, Clinton. In the summer of 1965, he worked for Lyle Leinen. Around 1970, Frank and Oscar Woodfork started Woodfork and Carr Construction. In 1972, Frank started his own business, Frank Carr Construction, which he ran until June 1, 2015, when his youngest son, Craig, took over.
Frank liked to race snowmobiles in his younger days at Apache Raceway, Inc., and even won a race with a check earning him $0.82 and a trophy. He also enjoyed hunting deer and pheasant. What he loved most was camping and fishing with his family, always hoping to catch the big one and saying, "Just one more point."
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Sarah, and son, Danny (Norie); grandchild, Lexi (Johnny Lovan); great-grandchildren, Edrina, Eriana, Emersyn, and Zayden; and grandchild, Robert Carr.
He is also survived by his daughter, Anna (Lee Boyles); grandchild, Dillon Lehman; great-grandchildren, Gage and Adalynn; grandchild, Jerica (Cole) Ripplinger; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Madison; grandchild, Shalyn; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Jaelyn, Ohana, Marley, and baby girl Jones.
He is survived as well by his son, Jeff, and grandchildren, Ella and Noah.
He is also survived by his daughter, Kerry (Kevin Corkins); grandchild, Ashley Corkins; great-grandchild, Savannah, daughter of Bryce Kopplin; grandchild, Jorden (Crystal) Arthurs; great-grandchildren, Corbin, Everly, and Alaina; grandchild, Logen (Kylee) Arthurs; great-grandchild, Paislee; grandchild, Kesha (Brody) Harkness; great-grandchildren, Willow, Reid and Ridge; and grandchild, Koby (Allysen) Corkins.
He is also survived by his son, Craig; grandchild, Micheal Carr; great-grandchild, Isabella, daughter of Matthew Carr; and grandchild, Ryan Carr.
Frank is also survived by his sister, Edith Gabriel, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Duane and Clinton; sisters, Joann Huber and Janet Marsh; and grandsons, Bryce Kopplin and Matthew Carr.
