Gary Eugene Lewis, 45, of Julesburg, CO died April 20, 2008 at his home in Julesburg.
Services will be held Thursday, April 24th at the Christian Church in Julesburg. He will also have a service on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Gary was born in Deadwood S.D. on December 31, 1962 to Loyde and Bernedene (Hansen) Lewis. He attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD for two and half years, majoring in education, math and industrial arts. Gary worked for the handicap adjustment training center in Aberdeen, where he managed forty clients in the woodworking shop. He also worked for the school in Redfield during the summer doing custodial work. He worked for the city of Redfield and he also worked construction. Gary came to Julesburg in 1984 to help his sister and brother-in-law (Ken-Shirley) build their house. He decided to move to Julesburg and he became employed with the Julesburg School District. He worked there for 24 years as the Director of Custodial and Maintenance Services. Gary loved woodworking, motorcycles, ducks unlimited, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. Gary was a hardworking man who showed pride in not only his work, but everything he did. He was very caring, and loved his family-- especially his children and grandchildren.
He was married to Peggy S. Alexander from June 22, 1985 to June 22, 2006. Together they had 3 children.

He is survived by four children: Danielle Rae Rossow of Watertown S.D; Chanteal Faith Lewis, Bernedene Misti Mechelle Lewis and Loyde Rhette Lewis, all of Julesburg and four grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers: Alan (Sandy), Wayne, Larry (Sherrie), Terry and Lonnie (Teresa) and four sisters: Shirley Klipfel, Roxie (Randy Olson), Bernadette Lewis(Terry), Brenda(Bobby) Chrisman.

Gary was preceded in death by his father Loyde Alfred Lewis and his mother Bernedene Mae Lewis, daughter Alyssa Faith and brother-in-law Kenneth Klipfel.
