George was born November 30, 1931 to Caryl and Nora Larsen. George married Verlyn Johnson on July 23, 1961. She preceded him in death on June 15, 2003. George was a veteran and served in the army during the Korean Conflict as a military police officer. He graduated from Dunwoody in Minneapolis, MN earning a degree in architectural drafting. He worked as a draftsman in Sioux Falls, SD, where he met Verlyn. After she graduated from Augustana College, they both moved to Omaha, NE and were married, where George worked for another architectural drafting firm. After six years, George and Verlyn moved from Omaha to Redfield, SD to help run the family business, Caryl Larsen Well Drilling.
George was an artist. He made metal sculptures and ceramic clay pieces. George had several hobbies including antiques, gardening, collecting stamps, coins, and rocks. His love of flowers and rocks were shown in his art work through sculpture and rock gardens.
George was a proud member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redfield and served as board president, sang in their choir, and served on several committees. He was an active member of the Men's Bible Study group. Later in life, he helped to supply meals to the elderly and was involved in the Gideons supplying Bibles to those in need.
The last six years of his life, George lived in Sioux Falls, SD at Avera Prince of Peace independent living apartments. On Tuesdays and Thursdays he so enjoyed playing cards with his friends that other appointments were scheduled around these times. He had a small flower garden on his patio, which he could see through his sliding glass door.

Sterling, WI), and Bruce (Shontel) Larsen (Sioux Falls, SD); additionally, his four grandchildren Michael Stalsberg, Marcus (Brenna) Stalsberg, Ashton (Kirynn) Larsen, and Spencer Larsen; and four great-grandchildren, Bridger Larsen, Auggie Larsen, Nora Jo Stalsberg, and Adalee Stalsberg.
