Geraldine Jesse Dring, 98, of Redfield, SD, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019, at the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center.  Her funeral service will be Monday, April 1, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.  Reverend Marty Toepke-Floyd will officiate.  Burial will take place at a later date at Rockham Grace Cemetery in Rockham, SD.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).

Geraldine Jesse Dring was born in Rockham, SD on February 18, 1921, to Thomas and Maude Bernice (Hare) Dring.  She grew up in the Rockham area and attended Rockham High School where she participated as a cheerleader.

After graduation, Geraldine moved to Minneapolis, MN where she did assembly work for Mallory Industries.  She then moved to Detroit, MI and Carson City, NV where she continued working in the assembly business.

Geraldine was a spunky and feisty lady who was adamant about what she did.  She loved to work in her garden, bake, cook and can produce.  She also loved cats, crocheting and knitting.

In 1977, Geraldine returned to South Dakota living in Rockham and Cresbard and working as a CNA at the nursing home in Faulkton.  Geraldine lived in Sioux Falls, prior to moving to Redfield.

Preceding her in death are her siblings: Evelyn Iverson, Ronald Dring, Carroll Dring, Ardyce Moore, Maude Dring, and Richard Dring.

Survivors include her nephew John Komraus of Redfield, SD; great-nephew Keith (Nicole) Komraus; and great-great nieces and nephew:  Hannah, Abbey and Elliott Komraus all of Zell, SD.  She is also survived by her nephews: Richard T. (Gail) Dring of Michigan and Ronald L. Dring of Michigan; nieces:  Judy L (Larry) Peuterbaugh of Michigan and Juanita Renee (David) Skone of Florida; great nieces and nephews:  Richard (Tammy) Dring of Michigan; Leigh Ann (Kevin) Young of Michigan; Scott A. Dring of Michigan;  Heather L. (Cory) Newberry of Michigan; Jessica R. Britton of Florida; Brittney (Michael) Parrott of New York; and David R. (Jennifer) Skone of Florida;  as well as numerous great-great nieces and nephews; and a great-great-great niece.
