Virginia M. "Ginny" Stapp, 78, of Redfield, SD, went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 26, 2011 at Eastern Star Home in Redfield. Her funeral will be Monday, August 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Redfield. Reverend Stephen Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. with the family present starting at 6:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.

Ginny was born April 13, 1933 to Ed and Ethel (Swope) Eidsness in Redfield. She was the seventh of seven children. Her husband, LeRoy, and Ginny graduated from Redfield High School in 1951. They were married April 5, 1952 in Redfield and resided on the Stapp farm for the first three years of marriage. They moved to Rockham in 1955 and lived there until 1966 when they moved back to the farm. In 1993, Ginny and LeRoy moved into Redfield and resided at Redfield Lake.
Ginny enjoyed golfing, writing, reading, painting and watching her granddaughter's activities. She loved doing volunteer work. She was conference officer for the United Methodist Women for some years and also served on the Community Memorial Hospital Board. She did the books for the farm and taught Sunday school at the Redfield United Methodist Church.
Ginny is survived by her husband LeRoy of Redfield and their daughters: Sheila (Mark) Muellenberg of Rockham; Brenda (Terry) Schmidt of Sioux Falls, SD; and Marty (Steve) Kalkman of Rapid City, SD. She is also survived by five granddaughters: Kristina (Chris White) Seale, Stephanie (Jan) Stenstadvolden, Michelle (Shawn) Poe, Heidi (Gabe) Gehrke and Heather (Chris Rude) Muellenberg and seven great grandchildren: Anders and Owen Stenstadvolden, Lilly and Waverly Seale, Calista and Elise Poe and Ella Muellenberg-Peterson. She is also survived by three sisters: Lois Stemper, Irene Nix and Leila Jungwirth and one brother Floyd Eidsness.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters; Marion Hanson and Lucille Harr.
