Gleva Agnes (Remily) Ewing, 97, of Aberdeen, SD, and formerly of Turton, SD, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, March 22, 2019, at Sanford Hospital in Aberdeen.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Turton.  Reverend Michael Kelly will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Turton.

Visitation will be Wednesday, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., at the church in Turton.  A Rosary Service will follow at 5:00 p.m.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield, SD (www.hykefuneralhome.com).

Gleva Agnes Remily was born on February 17, 1922, in Turton, SD to Leo and Edna (Understock) Remily.  She attended Turton Country Schools, Turton Convent, and Turton High School graduating in 1941.

Gleva married Harold O. Ewing on September 24, 1941, in Turton.  Together they lived in Turton, Witchita Falls, TX, Salt Lake City, UT, and Ipswich, SD.  To this union, four daughters and three sons were born.  Gleva was a homemaker, wife, and mother.  After Harold passed away, Gleva resided with her daughter at Mina Lake, SD before moving to a care center in Aberdeen.

She enjoyed crocheting, baking, plastic canvas, and reading.  Gleva also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities.

Gleva is survived by her daughters: Linda (Arthur) Kirschenmann, Newcastle, OK; Jane Pearson, Aberdeen, SD; and Cindy (Eddie) Grote, Mina, SD; sons: Harold Ewing (friend Laurel Hearnen), Turton, SD; Dale Ewing, Kansas City, MO; and Craig (Kim) Ewing, Meade, KS. Gleva is also survived by her grandchildren: Todd, Nicole, Kristy, Jay, Ange, Steph, April, Charlie, Amy, Manda, and Allen as well as great-grandchildren: Rylan, Taiton, Aubrey, Emma, Travis, Liam, Owen, Jacob, Macy Mae, Hollee, Madi, and Eli.

She is preceded in death by her husband Harold; daughter Eileen; brothers: Don and Berwyn; sisters: Marie and Agnes; daughter-in-law Wanda Ewing; son-in-law Scott Pearson; and grandson Don Kirschenmann.
