Harland Wayne Rieger, 61, of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Redfield, SD, died Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. His graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Green Hill Cemetery in Lemmon, SD. Reverend Frank Gantt will officiate. Harland Wayne Rieger was born December 30, 1954 in Lemmon, SD to Richard and Irene (Maier) Rieger. Harland lived at home with his parents and twin brother, Arlynn, until he was admitted to the South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield in 1976. Harland became a resident of DakotAbilities in Sioux Falls in 2002 where he remained until his death.

Harland enjoyed going outside, golf cart rides, social interaction, swinging, sitting in the sun, swimming, sitting in his special recliner and various sensory activities.

Harland is survived by his twin brother, Arlynn, of Texas; his aunt, Freda Hoffland of Lemmon; his cousin, Rhonda Tomac of Keldron, SD; many cousins as well as the residents and caregivers at the South Dakota Developmental Center and DakotAbilities.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
