Obituary

Hilda A. Wilson, 89, of Redfield, SD died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Eastern Star Home in Redfield. Her funeral will be Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at First Congregational UCC Church in Redfield. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate. Burial will be in the Tulare Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-8:00 p.m. with the family present starting at 6:00 p.m. and an Eastern Star service at 7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Hilda was born January 11, 1922 in Hand County, SD to George and Minnie (Miller) Anderson. She attended Center School in Hand County and graduated from Redfield High School in 1940. She married Clarence Wilson June 6, 1952 at First Congregational UCC Church in Redfield. They lived on the farm near Tulare for a few years before Clarence died in 1959. Hilda and her children, moved into Tulare in 1961. Hilda worked at the Burdette Store, Baldwin Hospital, Sanders and Clark Grocery, Community Memorial Hospital, Tulare Cafe', South Dakota Developmental Center-Redfield and Eastern Star Home. She moved to Redfield in 1999 and has been at Eastern Star Home since 2008.

She was a member of Eastern Star Oasis #148, Wheaton Church, Salem Church in Tulare and First Congregational UCC Church.

Hilda enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards and dominoes.

Hilda is survived by her children: Jeffery (Terry) Wilson of Anchorage, AK; Gregory (Mary Ann) Wilson of Aberdeen, SD; and Patrice Wilson of Redfield; four grandchildren: Ryan Wilson of New York City, NY; Angela (Joe) Wigdahl of Aberdeen, SD and their son Avett; Adrienne Wilson and Caroline Wilson both of Anchorage, AK. She is also survived by her brother Carroll Anderson of Spearfish, SD, her brother-in-law Walt Taylor of San Diego, CA and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Kenneth and her sisters: Beatrice Taylor, Betty Marlow and Nyla Lou Anderson.
