Obituary

J. A. "Bud" St. Denis, 97, of Redfield, SD, died Tuesday, April 01, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Redfield, SD.

His memorial service will be Friday, April 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield. Father William Osborn will celebrate the Mass.

Bud grew up in Providence, RI and graduated from Providence Evening High School. He married Cecile "Sis" Richard in 1938. Bud worked as an electrical contractor and electrician while the lived in Providence, California and Las Vegas. While living in Providence during World War II, Bud was awarded the Navy "E" award for efforts in the production of material vital to National Defense. He also helped service men with their rifle marksmanship, qualifying as a Rifle Sharpshooter. He was proud of the fact that even though he wasn't a veteran of military service, he helped during the war. Bud and Sis moved to Redfield in 1989 and Sis died in 2006.

Bud is survived by two grandchildren: Michael Larson of Atascadero, CA; and Darlynn Andrasko of Pas Robles, CA; and one great grand son Greg Larson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son Robert St. Denis and his daughter Phyllis Erb.
