Jack LeRoy Haan, 70, of Redfield, SD, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.  His funeral service will be Monday, July 22, at 10:30 a.m., at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield.  Reverend Peter M. Utecht will officiate. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.  Visitation will be Sunday, July 21, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Hyke Funeral Home.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).

Jack LeRoy Haan was born on March 11, 1949, in Sioux Falls, SD to Lawrence and Janice (Lofswold) Haan.  He attended schools in the Sioux Falls area graduating from Lincoln High School.

Jack married Nancy Hubbell on June 14, 1969.  He joined the US Navy in September of 1969 and was honorably discharged in July 1971.

Jack began working for Northwestern Public Service in 1974 as a lineman.  Jack retired after 30 years of service.  On November 14, 1981, he married Shirley Beyer.

He enjoyed reading books, golfing, walleye fishing, and hunting.  He was a true sportsman and was dedicated to the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Twins.  He loved attending his grandchildren's activities and spending time with his coffee group. He looked forward to and enjoyed his 9:30 a.m. Sunday phone calls and cookies with family.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of Redfield; his mother Janice of Sioux Falls, SD; his children: Rob Haan from Keystone, SD; Mat (Jade) Haan from Westlawn, PA; Dan Haan from Persia, IA; and Jakki (James) Holm from Warner SD.  Also surviving are his grandchildren: Madysn, Reese, and Maggie; as well as his siblings: Mike Haan and Pat Haan, both from Sioux Falls, SD.

He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
