James Dale Becker, 92, of Redfield, SD, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Redfield.  His graveside service, with military honors, will be 1:00 p.m. MT on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.

Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5 at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).

James Dale Becker was born June 27, 1926 in Eagan, SD.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944.  He was injured in WWII and was honorably discharged in the fall of 1945.  James lived most of his life in Sioux Falls, SD where he worked as a laborer before he entered the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in 2004.  He enjoyed watching "Matlock" and "Bonanza."

James is survived by a son, daughter and one grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his sisters:  Grace Crabb and Alyce Calfee.
