January 7, 1948 – June 2, 2021
Janice Marie Jungwirth, 73, of Redfield, SD, passed away peacefully at Sanford Medical Center in Aberdeen, SD on June 2, 2021. Her family will host a celebration of life from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Shanty Haven in Redfield.

Janice was born in Redfield, SD to Willard and Lucille (Miller) Way on January 7, 1948. She attended Northwestern School in Mellette, SD, until her senior year when the family moved to Huron, SD, where she graduated high school. She met the love of her life, Bernard Jungwirth Sr., in high school. They were united in marriage on June 26, 1966.
Janice enjoyed doing a variety of crafts, including quilting, beadwork, crocheting, and tatting. She enjoyed canning and baking. One of her favorite past times was watching the Minnesota Twins and attending the Twins Winter Caravan.
Janice is survived by her husband, Bernard Jungwirth Sr. of Redfield and children: Bernard (Carol) Jungwirth Jr. of West Covina, CA; Michael (Tonja) Jungwirth and their children: Johnathon, Amelia, and Ian of Redfield; Laura (Clinton) Wagemann and their children: Nathaniel, Jeremy, Isaac, and Ann of Aberdeen, SD; Anna (Dallas) Ellenbecker and their children: Kalyn (Keylan) Hunsucker of Belle Fourche, SD; Kelsee (Nathan) Nash of Faulkton, SD; Christeen Krahl of Aberdeen, SD; Austin Ellenbecker and Kayden Ellenbecker all of Aberdeen, SD; and Shelly (Merlyn) Perry of Statesville, NC and their children: Brandon of North Adams, MI, and Tiffany of Statesville, NC. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Jane Campbell, Joann Jungers, Willard Way Jr., Jeri Harr, and Janet Gruenwald, and beloved dog Snoopy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Charles, a set of triplets, brothers John and Joe, and sister Jeannie.
