Jason B. Schumacher, 38, of Redfield, SD, died Friday, May 30, 2014 at his home. His funeral will be Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Reverend Brian Wasmoen will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home. Jason Bradley Schumacher was born March 29, 1976 in Aberdeen, SD to Larry and Darlene (Vilhauer) Schumacher. He graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1994 and Northern State University, in 1999, with a degree in Business Management. He met Jill Ellenson in 1999 and they were married June 10, 2007, in Las Vegas, NV. He worked for Mutual of Omaha/Coventry Healthcare for several years until 2009. Jason and Jill moved to Redfield in 2006 and he worked as a day trader/investor from his home.

He enjoyed working on the computer, fishing and traveling. Jason and Jill enjoyed walking and bike riding together.

Jason is survived by his wife Jill Schumacher of Redfield; his mother Darlene (Larry Harty) Schumacher of Aberdeen; his brother Joe Schumacher of Aberdeen; his maternal grandmother Vilena Vilhauer of Aberdeen; his uncle Duane Vilhauer of Aberdeen and several other uncles, aunts and cousins. He is also survived by Jill's parents Jim and Verna Ellenson and their family.

He was preceded in death by his father Larry Schumacher in 2009, his maternal grandfather and his paternal grandparents.
