Jeffery Duane Hoellein, 38, of Ashton, SD, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday April 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Mellette. Fr.Christopher Hughes will celebrate the mass. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-8:00 p.m. with a liturgical wake and rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home with the family present from 6:30-8:00 p.m. www.thelenfuneralhome.com
Jeffery Duane was born December 11, 1968 in Aberdeen, SD to Duane and Rose (Murray) Hoellein. He graduated from Northwestern High School in Mellette in 1987. He graduated from Lake Area Vo-Tech in Watertown in 1989 with a degree in Ag Production.
Jeff married Tina Fischer on December 15, 1990 at All Saint's Catholic Church in Mellette and they lived on a farm that they purchased SW of Northville. He loved speed shooting and belonged to the Aberdeen Hand Gunners Club, and was a range officer. Jeff was an avid hunter and enjoyed snowmobiling, camping and spending time with his family and friends at the lake. He enjoyed following his daughters in dance, piano and sports. His true love, second only to his family, was farming. He spent time custom combining and combined from Texas to Canada.
He was a member of All Saint's, he was an extraordinary minister of communion. He served on the Parish Finance Council, Northville Fire Department, Northville Community Association and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He had a F.F.L. License which allowed him to operate his own gun business, H & H Guns in Ashton.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Tina; daughters, Kelsey and Kaylee, both at home; his parents, Duane and Rose Hoellein of Northville, SD; grandmothers, Marie Murray of Mellette, SD and Rose Hoellein of Van Couver, WA; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Carol Fischer of Aberdeen, SD; brother-in-law, Justin Fischer of Aberdeen, SD and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Murray and Elden Hoellein.
