Jerald "Jerry" Terrence Jungwirth, 50, of Zell, SD, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. His funeral will be Friday, September 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Zell. Father Christopher Hughes will officiate. After the funeral Jerry will be cremated and his ashes will be buried at a later date. Jerry was born October 16, 1960 in Redfield to Terry and Shirley (Holm) Jungwirth. He graduated from Redfield High School in 1978. Jerry married Brenda Scott in 1981 and they made their home near Zell. They had four children: Tara, Anthony, Stephanie and Jerad. Jerry farmed and raised cattle near Zell. He also worked for Francis Jungwirth throughout the years,Esser Farms,Redfield Livestock Auction Sale Barn,Burdick Brothers Repair and for many area farmers. Jerry married Delila Young on June 25, 2004.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, playing cards, visiting with family and friends, working with cattle and horses and spending time with his long time companion, his dog, Moe (PH).

Jerry is survived by his wife Delila of Zell, his children Tara (Ken Steiner) Jungwirth of Pierre, SD and children Jaxon and Logan; Anthony (Keri Martinmaas) Jungwirth of Tulare, SD and daughter Charli; Stephanie (Larry Pitsenberger) Jungwirth of Flandreau, SD and son Wyatt; and Jerad (Jackie St. John) Jungwirth of Miller, SD and daughter Faith; his step son Mitchell Young of Ashton and daughter Gretchen. He is also survived by his mother Shirley Jungwirth of Zell, his paternal grandmother Leila Jungwirth of Redfield; his brother Tim (Jodi) Jungwirth of Tulare, SD; his sisters: Kim (John) Fanning of Miller, SD; Karla (Kevin) O'Daniel of Zell, SD and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terry, in March, 2011, his brother Todd, his paternal grandfather Bernard Jungwirth, his maternal grandparents Virgil and Eva Holm, a special great uncle Francis Jungwirth and uncles and aunts.
