James "Jim" Trenhaile, 73, Redfield, SD, died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
His funeral will be Thursday April 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at First Congregational UCC Church. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate.
Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery.

James Dean Trenhaile was born on December 7, 1941 in Yale, Iowa to Charles and Kathryn (Buesing) Trenhaile. Jim carried with him the notoriety of being born on the day the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor signaling the entrance of the United States in to World War II.
Jim began his educational career near Bloomfield, Nebraska prior to moving to rural Zell and entering the Redfield, South Dakota school district. After graduating from Redfield High School in 1960, Jim joined the United States Air Force in 1961. He was united in marriage with Joan Kopplin in July of 1962. His first son, Guy James Trenhaile was born on February 17, 1963, followed by a second son, Jay Dean Trenhaile born on April 30, 1964. During his time in the Air Force Jim trained at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, Bitburg Air Force Base in Germany and at Minot Air Force Base in Minot, North Dakota. Jim was a proud member of the American Legion for 49 years.
For many years Jim farmed at a rural Zell, SD location that he purchased from his father. After years of farming and working at the South Dakota Wheat Growers in Tulare, SD, Jim retired to a Redfield location with the love of his life, Betty Moore. Jim enjoyed many hours of playing cards, hunting, traveling, telling stories and jokes and country music with Betty. He also enjoyed watching football and attending grandchildren's activities. Jim was known to spend many hours worrying about loved ones.
He is survived by the love of his life, Betty Moore and her children: Della Moore (Rich Osborn) and Della's children: Josie and Gracie of Redfield, Chad (Krissy) Moore and their children: Sydney, Payton, Layne and baby to come in June, of Redfield. Jim is also survived by sons: Guy (Lisa) Trenhaile and children: Matt and Cade of Aberdeen and Jay (Kelly) Trenhaile and children: Thayer, Kara and Westin of Volga. Also surviving Jim are his sisters: Ellen(Bill) Canham of Rockham, SD and Charlsie (Bill) Mayden of Eugene, OR.
Jim is preceded in death by his brother Irvin Trenhaile, his parents, and his sister Patricia Steigelmeier.
