Josephine "Jo" Felderman, 93, of Doland, SD died Monday, December 22, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Redfield, SD.

Her funeral will be Friday, December 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Doland. Reverend Grace Rhodes will officiate. After a time for fellowship and lunch, burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.

Mary Josephine was born January 10, 1915 in Rapid City, SD to Charles A. and Susan (Glendinning) Wright. She started school in Redfield and due to her father traveling to work on road construction, she attended a total of seven schools, graduating from New Underwood High School in 1933. She attended Mitchell Normal Teacher's College and taught rural school around Redfield for a few years. Jo married Leonard Erickson on December 23, 1940 in the Wright Homestead home northeast of Redfield. They farmed in the Doland area until Leonard died in 1967. Jo continued farming for several more years before marrying Everett "Red" Felderman, in 1973, in Redfield. They lived in the Doland area. Red died in 1983.

Jo was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, sixty year member of the Rebekah Lodge, extension clubs and American Legion Auxiliary.

Jo was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, flowers and gardening. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and was well known for her homemade bread and buns.

Jo is survived by her children: Kathryn (Lealand) Iverson of Doland, Jodie Erickson of Springdale, AR; Curtis (Janis) Erickson of Bath, SD; Randy (Pat) Erickson of Denver, CO; and Wayne Erickson of West Fork, AR, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, an infant son Robert, her sister Neva Hamling and her brother John Wright.

Casketbearers will be her grandchildren: Robert Iverson, Juanita Adrian, Gordon Iverson, Heidi Olsen, Holly Fisk, Tina Hubert, Randy Erickson and Justin Erickson.
