*Committal service for Judy Lynn (Frericks) Frost will be 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018 in the Ashton Cemetery, Ashton, SD.

Judy Lynn (Frericks) Frost, 70, of Ashton, SD, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 3, 2018, at Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with family present.  A prayer service, led by her nephew Kody Bullock, will follow at 7:00 P.M.  Judy has been cremated and a committal service will take place at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).

She will be forever missed by her husband Terry of Ashton and their children, Kim (Mark) Potratz of Grand Forks, ND; Travis (Kaylin) Frost of Ashton, SD; and Trava (Rodger) Olivier of Pipestone, MN; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Bair of Groton, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Judy Lynn Frericks was born on April 4, 1947, in Redfield, SD to Harry and Frieda (Holdorf) Frericks. She grew up near Athol, SD, and attended school in Athol until the consolidation, and then continued her education in Redfield through her junior year. On February 15, 1966, she was united in marriage to Terry Frost in Webster, SD. They lived in several states, including Wyoming and Kansas while Terry worked for the Bureau of Land Management. They moved back to the family farm in 1968.

Judy worked on the farm, helping with tending cattle and sheep. She also had huge gardens and raised and butchered chickens and geese. Judy also worked various jobs over the years including cooking at the South Dakota Developmental Center, working construction (she helped build the "Frost" bridge on Highway 281 north of Redfield and the Athol bridge), and working at the Redfield Livestock sale barn, the Penny Pincher and True Value. The last fifteen years she worked at the family antique business, Trailer Treasures, where she enjoyed visiting with the many people who return to the store year after year.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Verne Frericks, Catherine Taylor, Leonard Frericks, Darwin Frericks, Richard Frericks, Danny Frericks, Sally Sale, Gary Frericks and Mike Frericks, one still-born grandson, Phillip Bogenrief, and a great niece, Destinee Zens, who was very close to her heart.
