Devoted mother and grandmother, Justina J. Roth was born April 2, 1944 in Winnipeg, Canada, to Joseph and Rebecca (Kleinsasser) Wollman and was raised near Iroquois, South Dakota. She worked at various jobs in numerous South Dakota towns before moving to Redfield to work at the South Dakota Developmental Center. Shortly after, she met the love of her life and best friend, Gene Roth, on a blind date. They married on December 2, 1967 and moved to the family farm northwest of Redfield. Gene and Justina were inseparable. Before his death in 2013, you would rarely see one without the other.
Their 45-year union was blessed with six children. She worked along side her husband doing field work, working cattle and at the same time she was busy making their house a home. With all the dust, dirt, and mud that goes along with country living, you would never find any of it in her home even after she began providing daycare for her grandchildren. She was known for her cooking and baking. In fact, there was never a shortage of workers at the farm if they knew she was cooking. She was very devoted to her prayer time, which included the Holy Rosary and Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. She loved reading, playing games on her Kindle, watching game shows, listening to classic country music, and spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the experience of traveling the world with family.
Justina is survived by her daughter, Tammy, of Sioux Falls; son, Michael (Terri) and their children Brendan, Brexton, and Breanna of Redfield; son, Jarrod, of Redfield; son Adam (Jacquie) and their children Alexis and Caleb of Highmore; daughter Dawn (fiance' Mike Betten) of Redfield; daughter, Amy (Mike) Hauger and their child McKenzie of Vermillion; her sister Rebecca (John) Waldner, her brother, Joe Wollman; her sister, Sarah (Aaron) Waldner; her sister, Susan Leptien; her sister, Anna (Jonathan) Wipf; her sister Rosa (Dennis) Ashwell; her sister, Clara (Harold) Wipf; and brother, Danny (Martha) Wollman; and many nieces, and nephews.
