Mary Kathleen Leinen, 67, of Redfield, SD, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Redfield.

Kathi was cremated and her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield. Father Christopher Hughes will celebrate the mass.

Cremains burial will be at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.

Kathi was born March 27, 1945 in Redfield to Lyle and Shirley (Lunney) Leinen. She grew up on a farm near Redfield, before moving into Redfield, with her family, as a young child. She graduated from Redfield High School in 1963. She lived in Minneapolis, MN and Ft. Lauderdale, FL before moving to Aberdeen, SD and eventually to Redfield. She worked at Gallagher and Battey Law Office and was the chief dispatcher for Spink County Sheriff's Department for many years.

She enjoyed painting and cross word puzzles.

Kathi is survived by her son Jason (Doreen) Leinen of Aberdeen and their children: Jacob and Emma; her mother Shirley Leinen of Redfield; her brothers: Mike (Carol) Leinen of Grapevine, TX; Tom (Carol) Leinen of Redfield; her sister Kristi Mills of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and her sister-in-law Alta Leinen of Aberdeen and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Jeff.
