Katie M. Waldner, 86, Glendale Colony, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at her home.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Glendale Colony Church, Frankfort, SD.  Visitation will be Sunday, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., at the Waldner Home at the Glendale Colony.  A Wake Service will follow at 8:00 p.m. at the Glendale Colony Church.  Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield, SD has been entrusted with arrangements.  (www.thelen-hykefuneralhome.com)

Katie Waldner, age 86, was a resident of Glendale Colony where she died peacefully with her family at her side. She was born in Huron Colony, Manitoba on September 9, 1931 to Rev. Michael and Katharina Waldner. She moved to Pearl Creak Colony, South Dakota in 1949. On October 20, 1996 she married Zack Waldner at Glendale Colony.

Grandma enjoyed knitting for all her grandchildren and was proud when she could share them with somebody. A forgiving heart was something she taught us every day. And every day until the end, her last words were "Thank you for all you do for me!"
