Kelvin G. Ahlstrom, of Bonilla, SD, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. His funeral will be Monday, October 24, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Bible Baptist Church in Tulare, SD. Reverend Todd Bowers will officiate. Burial will be in Bonilla Cemetery in Bonilla.

Kelvin was born August 16, 1955 in Huron, SD to Floyd and Carol (Brock) Ahlstrom. He grew up in the Hitchcock and graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1973. On May 31, 1975, Kelvin and Susan (Walker) were married in Laramie, WY. They raised their three living children in Bonilla, SD. He enjoyed working as an Auto Body Repair Technician for 30 years and was well known for his restoration work on older vehicles.
Kelvin loved his family incredibly, but most importantly he loved the Lord Jesus Christ who he asked forgiveness of his sins and to fill his heart and soul with the Holy Spirit's presence. Knowing this his family is comforted in the knowledge that he is with the Lord in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife Susan of Bonilla, his children: Ryan (Sheila) Ahlstrom of Lynn Missouri: his children Jay Lynn and Royce; daughter Christy (Jay) Steinheuser of Redfield and their son Logan; son Jared (Kristy) Ahlstrom of Rapid City, SD and their daughter Hailey. He is also survived by his mother Carol Ahlstom of Huron, and his sisters: Lynette (Rod) Jungemann of Wolsey, SD, Yvonne Leith and her friend Dennis Hauger of Irene, SD, Vonita Gardner of Sioux Falls, SD, Sheila (Darrel) Hampton of Huron, SD and Kathy (Bill) Hill of Casper, WY.
He was preceded in death by his son Benjamin James and his father, Floyd Ahlstrom.
