Kenneth "Kenny" A. Klipfel, 61, of Julesburg, CO died February 2, 2008 in Centennial, CO.
Visitation will be Wednesday February 6, 2008 at Austin-Tennant Funeral Home from 10:00AM to 7:00PM. Funeral Services will be held Thursday February 7, 2008 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Julesburg, CO at 10:00AM with Pastor Trent Christensen officiating.
Interment will be Friday February 8th, 2008 at 1:00PM in Aberdeen, SD with a viewing beforehand at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield, SD from 10:00AM to 12:00PM.
Kenny was born June 30, 1946 in Aberdeen, SD to Jacob and Elsie (Scheuffele) Klipfel. Kenny graduated from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD with a degree in Chemistry/Math and a minor in German. Kenny worked for Kinder Morgan from October of 1982 to the present and was a cable TV technician prior to Kinder Morgan.
Kenny married Shirley Mae Lewis September 5th, 1980 and was married previously to Joan Marlette (Wallace) on August 23, 1968.
Kenny was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Choir; his hobbies included music, gardening, astronomy, reading, spending time with family, photography, and bird watching. He also enjoyed educating youth in astronomy; he served several terms on CO-NE Credit Union Board of Directors; supported local schools through committee service and enjoyed being a fan of local school sporting events.
Kenny is survived by Wife Shirley Klipfel of Julesburg, Sons Brian Klipfel and wife Cynthia of Bella Vista, AR and Jimmy Whitley of Denver, CO. Daughter Angie Gregory and husband Howard of Duluth, MN, and Brothers Tim Klipfel of Sidney, NE and David Klipfel and wife Cynthia of Sidney, NE. He also had five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Elsie Klipfel, father-in-law and mother-in-law Loyde and Bernadene Lewis, Sister Nadine Bell, Nephew Kevin Klipfel, and Great-Nephew Matthew Berg.
