Obituary

LaDell R. Harr, 71, of Zell, SD, died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield. Father William Osborn will celebrate the mass. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery with full military rites. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

LaDell was born March 24, 1936 in Mankato, MN to Russell and Evelyn (Jungwirth) Harr. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Redfield High School. LaDell married Rosalie Stahl on November 19, 1956 in Rockham, SD. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. After his discharge, he farmed in the Zell area until his death.

LaDell enjoyed farming, raising livestock and collecting and restoring Farmall tractors. He spent time traveling in their motor home, pheasant hunting and watching stockcar racing. He especially loved spending time with his family, the family dog "Muffin" and driving his Polaris Ranger around the countryside.

LaDell is survived by his children Rick (Deb Schanbeck) Harr of Zell, Rhonda (Greg Stroh) Rosenberg of Redfield and Cindy (Bill) Nichols of Redfield, six grandchildren: Landon, McKenzie, Kason, Wylie, Delvin and Austin and one great-granddaughter Ashtin. He is also survived by his mother Evelyn Harr of Redfield and his sister Deb Engelgau of Hillard, OH.

LaDell was preceded in death by his father, his wife Rosalie on March 19, 2007 and his brother Doyle.

Casketbearers will be Clyde Harr, Jerry Jungwirth, Tim Jungwirth, Kevin O'Daniel, Pat Zens and Kurt VanVleet.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Dick Boyd, Terry Jungwirth, Wayne Jensen, CJ Fink, Clayton Fink, Ralph Roth, Lannie Arthurs and Terry Thomas.

Music will be provided by Brenda Stover, Sheri Zens, Mary Binger and St. Bernard's Choir.

Lector will be Rick Klapperich. Altar Servers will be Chloe Edgar and Katie Klapperich.
