Leola M. Rahm, 95, Aberdeen, SD, formerly of Turton, SD, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Turton. Father Mike Kelly will officiate. Private burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the church in Turton. Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. (www.thelen-hykefuneralhome.com)

In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Turton.

Leola Margaret Bollerslev was born October 11, 1921 to Andrew and Hattie (Howard) Bollerslev in Doland, SD. She attended grade school at the Lawrence Country School near Doland and graduated from Doland High School in 1939.

Leola was united in marriage to Arthur H. Rahm on February 11, 1942. To this union four children were born: Kathy, Artyce, Lynette and Gregory. Art and Leola farmed near Turton. They spent numerous winters traveling to Florida and Texas. Leola's hobbies were baking, gardening, square dancing, playing cards and following the Minnesota Twins. She enjoyed being a home maker.

Leola was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America. She taught CCD classes in her younger years. She was one of the original founders of the Turton Rummage House, a fundraiser for the church.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Art, on April 10, 2003; her sons-in-law: Harlan Scheibe and Mike Flynn; her sister Alta (George) Gamble and her brother, Howard.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her children: Kathy Scheibe of Fargo, ND; Artyce Flynn of San Antonio, TX; Lynette Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD and Greg (Cyd) Rahm of Turton, SD. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Alissa Burson, Karen Eliason, Todd Flynn, Molly Flynn, Andrea Castle, Amy Flynn, Lisa Carlson, Ashley Krimmel, Garrett Rahm, Danielle Heying, Grant Rahm and Meghan Scheibe and 22 great-grandchildren.
