Levi D. Zens, 23, of rural Tulare, SD, died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at his home. His funeral will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spink County 4-H Building in Redfield. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate. After the service Levi's body will be cremated and his ashes will be spread over the family farm. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-7:00 p.m. with the family present from 6-7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.

Levi was born January 4, 1992 in Huron, SD to Doug Zens and Lisa Moeller. He grew up on the Zens family farm west of Tulare and graduated from Redfield High School in 2010. He purchased the Dean and Diann Zens farm in 2014 and enjoyed all aspects of farming from raising cattle to growing crops.

Levi enjoyed hunting pheasants and deer. He especially enjoyed his time with his Wisconsin hunter Dick "Shooter" who taught him to shoot a rifle. He also rode bulls for a few years. His dog Rowdy was his constant companion.

Levi is survived by his dad Doug (Jackie Lopour) Zens of Redfield; his mom Lisa (Russ) Franks of Redfield; his brother Chris (Angela) Zens of Madison, SD and their two kids: Chloe and Conner; and his sister Jasmine Decker of Watertown, SD. He is also survived by his grandparents: Dean and Diann Zens and Allen and Villa Moeller; his aunts and uncles: Lana (Joe) Francis; Steve (Patty) Moeller, Sandy (Jim) Rikard, Pat (Sheri) Zens, Paul (Janelle) Zens and Darla (Brian) Seitz and many cousins.
