Linda Kay Holm, 65, of Redfield, SD, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 12, 2020, after a battle with cancer.  Public visitation will be Wednesday, July 15, 2020, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield.  A time of sharing will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Family will be present to accept condolences from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. and then again at 7:00 p.m.

Her public funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 16 at Hyke Funeral Home with Pastor Lorah Houser Jankord officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.  Please follow current social distancing guidelines.  The service will be recorded for those unable to attend.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com)

Linda Kay Kreeger was born March 16, 1955, in Tyndall, SD, to Reba (Crawford) and Roy Kreeger.  She grew up in Bridgewater, SD, and graduated from high school there in 1973.  She attended Watertown Lake Area Technical College for two years after high school but then moved to Redfield, SD where she began working at the South Dakota Developmental Center.  She worked there as a Direct Support Professional for 43 years.  Many friendships were developed and cherished through her work there.

She met Matthew Holm and they were married in October of 1981.  To this union, two beautiful daughters, Lindsay and Carmen, were born.  Later in life, Linda met Sam Pudwill and spent the remainder of her years with him by her side.

Linda enjoyed gardening in her earlier years.  She loved reading, crossword puzzles, sunshine, and the Chicago Bears.  Lovingly, her nickname was also "Bear."  Her time with friends was always fun when Linda was around.  Her hugs, her smile, and her laugh will forever be missed.

Most of all, Linda loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed that her grandkids were not far away, and she could see them most anytime she wanted.  She was blessed to recently meet and hold the newest addition, Kaden, before her passing.

She is survived by her partner and significant other, Sam Pudwill; her daughter, Lindsay (Josh) Finer and their sons, Owen and Kaden and her daughter, Carmen (Josh) Ulmer and their daughters, Mattie and Mollie, all of Aberdeen, SD.  Linda is also survived by one sister, Judy Longbottom of Bakersfield, CA; her brother, Dennis Kreeger of Bridgewater, SD; and her brother, James (Vicki) Kreeger of Salem, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
