Linda L. Switzenberg, 54, of Redfield, SD died Sunday, December 28, at her home in Redfield.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield, SD. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 2-8:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home.(www.thelenfuneralhome.com)
Linda Lou was born in Faulkton, SD on November 15, 1954, to Bill and Mary Lou (Pundsack) Lehman. She grew up on a farm near Seneca, SD. Linda attended North Canton Country School until the 8th grade and then started high school at Faulkton.
She married Don Bidwell in Seneca, SD in 1972. They moved to Redfield, SD and she became an employee of South Dakota Developmental Center-Redfield. She continued to work at SDDC for over 25 years holding several different jobs. Linda retired in 2005 due to her health. Several years after Don's death, Linda married Clark Switzenberg.
Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, and was the glue that held them together. She was a very good cook and would make each of her families' favorite dishes when they came to visit. Linda will be remembered as a true and loyal friend and neighbor. She will also be remembered for her love of the holidays, as she would decorate for every holiday and always changed her answering machine message to honor that holiday. She was active in 4-H in her younger years. She was a collector of many items but mainly angels and refrigerator magnets. After retirement she spent lots of time at Simply Charming drinking coffee and visiting with friends. Linda also loved drinking her Red Beer with olives.
She is survived by her sons: Donnie Bidwell and his fiancAC.e Lucia Dorris of Redfield, SD, Chad and Heather Bidwell of Champlin, MN and Ed Flad of Redfield, SD; two grandchildren Riley Bidwell of Champlin, MN and Peyton Dorris of Redfield, SD; two brothers: William (Peggy) Lehman of Gettysburg, SD, Joseph (Renae) Lehman of Aberdeen, SD; three sisters: Laura Hartley of Ipswich, SD, Coleen Freeman of Aberdeen, SD, Joleen Christman of Ipswich, SD; and several nieces and nephews
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don in 1982 and two brothers JayDee Lehman and Samuel Lehman.
