Lowell L. "Beary" Lounsberry, 85, of Redfield, SD, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital in Aberdeen. His memorial graveside service with military rites will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Doland Cemetery in Doland, SD. Beary was born September 27, 1929 in Doland to Ed and Thelma (Payne) Lounsberry. He attended Redfield High School and served in the United States Army from 1947-1948. Beary married Donna Schnittgrund in 1949 and they had one daughter Monica. He worked for REA in Redfield before moving to California. He graduated from trade school in 1955 and worked for and retired from Pacific Bell in Los Angeles. He was a deputy sheriff for Los Angeles County for ten years, leaving with the rank of Sergeant. Beary married Betty Villagran in 1963 and they had two daughters: Michele and Sherri. He moved back to Redfield in 1988.

He enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles, hunting and his dogs.

Beary is survived by his daughters: Sherri (Sean) Lounsberry-Greenway of Brea, CA and their daughters: Delaney and Ava; Michele Lounsberry (Ernest) Chavez of Fullerton, CA and their children: Rebecca, Robert Lowell, Edward and Joseph; and Monica "Monty" (Ruben) Lugo of Tustin, CA and their children Ruben and Michael. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, his cousin Dottie (Merv) Heaton of Redfield and his extended family: Terry and Rita Kissner and the whole Kissner family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is the last of his family name.
