Lyle Clinton Hormann, 88, of Redfield, SD, passed away on Tuesday, August 8th, 2017 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. His funeral service will be Saturday, August 12th, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Pastor Brian Wasmoen will officiate. Lyle was born June 2nd, 1929 in Aberdeen to Ernest and Dora (Wolter) Hormann. Lyle, along with his nine brothers and sisters, grew up and was educated in both Redfield and Aberdeen. On November 15th, 1954, Lyle married Shirley Zens in Redfield, SD. To this union, four children were born.

Lyle enjoyed gambling, playing cards, and going to the horse races. Often, he could be found outdoors tending to his garden and sitting in the swing while enjoying the fresh air and nature's beauty. As an avid hunter, Lyle looked forward to pheasant season every year. Most mornings, Lyle went to the Bread Box, and later to the Village Center, to have rolls and coffee with his friends.

Lyle is survived by his children: Wanda (Doug) Hamilton of Groton, SD, Carol (Randy) Maddox of Redfield, SD, and Keith (Ramona) Hormann of Forest Grove, OR; his sister Loretta Hauck; his grandchildren: Dulcy (Larry) Wipf, Stephanie (Ben) Holmstrom, Brad (April) Hamilton, Jessica (Brandon) Anderson, Justin Kissner, Emily Maddox, Samantha (Andrew) Berovic, Jennifer Hormann, Christopher Hormann; great-grandchildren: Alex, Preston, Maria, Ella, Sebastian, and Charlie; his sisters-in-law: Peggy Harmann, Mareta Hormann, Dorothy Connor, and Darlene Lutrell; and many nieces and nephews.
