Obituary



Lyle Dean Paschke, 80, of Rapid City, SD, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Visitation will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 12 to 2 p.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Redfield, SD. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverends Tammy Toepke-Floyd and Tim Fugman officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Redfield, immediately following the service.

A memorial service will be held at the Bible Fellowship Church in Rapid City on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. MT. Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield has been entrusted with the arrangements. ()

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be directed to the Redfield Lions Club, Redfield School Foundation or the First Congregational United Church of Christ of Redfield.

Lyle was born November 24, 1936, in Redfield, SD, to David and Doris (Schade) Paschke. He grew up near Zell, SD, attended country school and graduated from Redfield High School in 1954. He then attended South Dakota State University and graduated in 1958. He married Beverly Rohwer in Winner, SD, on December 22, 1962.

Lyle worked for Soil Conservation Service in Carlsbad, New Mexico; Winner, SD; and Britton, SD. He then spent 30 years with Norwest and Wells Fargo Bank in Redfield. He retired in 1992 and then moved to Rapid City in 2001 to be closer to his kids and grandkids, who were the joy of his life.

Lyle was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Redfield and Bible Fellowship Church in Rapid City. He also belonged to the Redfield Lions Club and the Rapid City Officials.

Lyle is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly, of Rapid City, SD; his children: Carla (Paul) Bachand of Pierre, SD; Dean (Danette) Paschke of Rapid City, SD; and Amber Paschke of Rapid City, SD. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Doug and Sara Bachand and Dustin and Darcy Paschke; his brother Larry (Sheila) Paschke of Rapid City, SD; and sister Bonnie Schaar of Sioux Falls, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Daryl Paschke.
