Margaret "Marge" L. Sterner, 76, of Redfield, SD, died Monday, July 30, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Her funeral will be Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Reverend Stephen Perry will officiate. After a time for fellowship and lunch the burial will be in Doland Cemetery near Doland, SD. Marge was born June 1, 1936 in Doland to Oscar and Loverne (Lancaster) Woodfork. She grew up in Doland and graduated from Doland High School. Marge married John Sterner and they raised three children. She worked in Gettysburg as the activity director at the nursing home and as the Potter County Sheriff's dispatcher. After moving to Redfield she worked at South Dakota Developmental Center-Redfield as the scheduling coordinator until she retired.

She was a member of the VFW auxiliary and was a past state officer and was very active in the Jaycees.

Marge enjoyed playing cards, bingo and crocheting. Her biggest joy was her family and especially her grandchildren.

Marge is survived by her children: Mardene (Jim) Robideau of Rockham, SD; Milton (Jimae) Ragels of Deadwood, SD; and Parry Sterner of Redfield; and numerous grandchildren whom she loved very much. She is also survived by her brothers: Wayne (Kay) Woodfork of California; Oscar (Carol) Woodfork of Redfield; her sisters: Violet Brockhoft of Watertown, SD; Bernice (Oscar) Solheim of Frankfort, SD; and Loretta Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD; and two sisters-in-law: Lillian Woodfork of Doland and Linda Woodfork of Huron, SD and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Milford and Wade and her sister Erma Cunningham.
