In lieu of flowers, the family would gratefully prefer memorials directed to Shayna to help defray funeral costs as well as support Mark and Shayna's young daughter, Maddilynn.
Mark Patrick Wooledge was born April 21, 1990, in Emporia, Kansas. He was welcomed by his loving parents Jerry and Merrilie (Crippen) Wooledge of Redfield, SD. Mark attended school in Redfield where he graduated in 2008. His interest in wildlife and taxidermy took him to taxidermy school in Winner, SD. He first worked at Burns Taxidermy in Frederick, SD. He opened Twin Lakes Taxidermy in 2013 on the family farm at the lake and was currently employed at Tulare Country Meats in Tulare, SD.
Mark met Shayna Frost of Ashton, SD, in 2012. The love of their life, Maddilynn Elizabeth, was born on April 1, 2014, and on January 20, 2018, they shared their marriage vows on the beaches of Jamaica. As they began their life, time together was limited as Mark worked days and Shayna worked the night shift at Avera St. Luke's in Aberdeen. They enjoyed the simple pleasures of the changing seasons at their lake home, and Mark soon was introduced to how crazy and entertaining life could be when they got together with Shayna's four siblings. Mark and Shayna enjoyed fishing and hunting together, playing board games, gardening, and most of all just being outdoors with their daughter Maddi.
Mark grew up fishing the banks of Twin Lakes at a young age, and that love never left him. He would fish in the early morning hours before leaving for work, and many times in the evening when the bite was good. Mark was also an avid hunter, and he looked forward to deer season every fall.
Anyone who knew Mark also knew how he loved music and singing. As a high school student, he was in All State Chorus and band for four years, and he participated in musicals with the Redfield Area Arts Council. From belting out Disney songs with Maddi to singing religious hymns, Mark could hit the notes. He also participated in FFA in high school.
Mark's artistic talents and passion for bringing life back to animals was evident in his taxidermy work, and he received various awards from the South Dakota Taxidermy Association.
Mark's favorite times were those he spent with Shayna and Maddi, his family and his closest friends. Traveling to Kansas and Wyoming to family reunions, visiting friends in Arizona, attending concerts with friends, and going West River on hunting expeditions filled his life with happiness.
Mark is survived by his wife, Shayna, and his daughter, Maddilynn, of Redfield, SD. He is also survived by his parents, Jerry and Merrilie Wooledge of Redfield, SD.
