Marlyce Marie Flint, 90, Aberdeen, SD and formerly of Doland, SD passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen, SD.  Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Turton, SD. Father Tom Hartman will officiate. After a time of fellowship and lunch, interment will follow at the Doland Cemetery in Doland, SD.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield, SD.  A Prayer Service and Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to accept condolences.

Marlyce Marie Mannie was born on August 29, 1929 on the family farm near Turton, SD to Henry and Sylvia (LaBrie) Mannie.  She was raised and schooled in the Turton and Doland areas, graduating from Doland High School in 1948.

She married Marvin Gardner on April 19, 1950 in Turton, SD.  To this union three children were born; Gail, Paula and Robert.  Marlyce was a stern but loving mother, teaching her children life lessons.

She had a very strong work ethic and was employed by the Doland Cafe, the Doland School and Doland Hardware store.  She also painted many barns and houses in the area.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Altar Society and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Doland.  Marlyce enjoyed embroidery, reading, dancing, flowers and red beer.

After her husband Marvin passed away in 1979, she continued to reside in the Doland area.

In 1981 she married Eugene Flint in Doland, SD.  They enjoyed traveling to Florida for the winter months, returning to South Dakota in the summer.   After the death of Eugene, Marlyce continued to travel to Florida for the winter, returning to Doland in the summer.

Marlyce moved from Doland to the Angelhaus Assisted Living Center in Aberdeen in January 2017.

She is survived by her daughters: Gail (Robert) Carter of Holmen, WI and their children, Chelsey (Kirk) Mona, Kim Carter and Rob Carter; Paula (Steve) Grieben of Aberdeen, SD and son Mitch (Alexandra) Grieben; her son: Bob (Sandra) Gardner of Sterling, Co and their children Nicole Zaldivar, Adam (Maica) Gardner and Drew (Britney) Donovan.  She is also survived by her brothers: Marvin Mannie and James (Karen) Mannie, eight great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

Marlyce is preceded in death by her husbands, her siblings: Elaine, Joyce, Carol, Jerry and Patti and one grandson Jason Zaldivar.
