Marvin Henry Olson, 83, of Redfield, SD passed away at his home on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Celebration of Life will be from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 25 at Marvin's shop.

Marvin Henry Olson was born February 19, 1941, in Highmore, SD to Henry Marvin Olson and Katie Hattie (Strohbehn) Olson. He attended high school and later worked for Wilson Brother's Concrete in Redfield, SD.

He was a self-employed carpenter for over 50 years. He was an excellent craftsman and was a perfectionist at his woodwork.

Marvin raised three wonderful children. He shared his love of the outdoors with all of his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping trips together with those he loved and his dogs, taking home many trophy mounts along the way.

Marvin is survived by his three children: Barbra (Jerome) Tuschen of Sioux Falls, SD, Diane Goldade of Aberdeen, SD, and Richard (Kim) Olson of Aberdeen, SD.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sister Geraldine Richards of Lady Lake, Florida.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Kathryn McLeish, Elzora Hamlin, Veda Meyer, Joyce Meyer, Opal Preston, and brother Alvin Olson.
