Mary Lenna Coleman Raebel, 88, died in San Antonio, Texas on February 28th of complications from a heart attack. Her funeral will be Monday, March 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Redfield, SD. Reverend Mary Catherine Enockson. Mary Lenna was born in Redfield, SD on January 25, 1920 to Leonard and Catherine (Winchester) Coleman. Mary Lenna graduated from Redfield High School and attended Washington University in St. Louis, MO, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. She married Lt. James B. Raebel, also from Redfield, in 1942, and spent the next 30 years moving her family around the country as an Air Force wife. After Colonel Raebel's retirement they made their home in Redfield for several years before moving to the Air Force retirement village in San Antonio in 1988.
Mary Lenna is survived by her three children, Ann Moira (Stephen) Turner of Honolulu, HI; Catherine Jane (Wayne) Kuzman of Parkston, SD, and Stephen Ryan (Dianne) Raebel of Cary, IL; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Catherine Coleman Peters of Detroit Lakes, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband James in 2002.
Casketbearers will be Mary Lenna's grandchildren: Travis James Raebel, Alec Jon Richard Raebel, Lenna Elizabeth Raebel, James Arthur Kuzman, Ryan Todd Kuzman, Randall Briggs Turner, Molly Lenna Lammers and Clay Coleman Turner.
Music will be provided by Anthony and Gretchen Burbach.
