Maryalice (Roeber) DeYoung, 77, of Frankfort, SD, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield, SD. Family will be present beginning at 6:00 p.m. to accept condolences. A prayer service and time of sharing will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Maryalice's funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 22 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redfield with Reverend Brian Wasmoen officiating. Interment will follow the funeral at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.

Maryalice Roeber was born May 2, 1944, in Redfield, SD to Roy and Alice (McCoy) Roeber. She attended all 12 years of school in Redfield, graduating in 1962. She then attended Nettleton Business College where she received an associate's degree in business.
In 1966, she married her best friend, Jerry DeYoung and they purchased a farm near Frankfort, SD. Her life as a farm wife began when she and her horse moved to the farm. They were blessed with four sons: Kevin, Brad, Scott, and Darin.
Maryalice worked in business offices at SDDC, Redfield and Huron hospitals, Beverly Nursing Home, Si Tanka College, and Wells Fargo Bank in Aberdeen, SD. She was forced to retire due to cancer which she fought the rest of her life.
Baking cookies with her grandchildren earned Maryalice the beloved name, "Grandma Cookie." Another favorite pastime was bargain shopping and she loved playing cards with friends. She had fun with the Red Hat Society and was a member of the Frankfort Community Center Board.
She is survived by her sons: Brad (Margot) DeYoung of Redfield and their children: Katelyn (Dylan) Vansteenberg and Ethan; Scott (Katina) DeYoung of Frankfort and their children: Bailey, Kara, and Danielle; and Darin (Jessica) DeYoung of Frankfort and their children: Aleigha, Christian, Josie, and Axel. Maryalice is also survived by her son Kevin's children: Kyle (Jessica) Carter and Amy (Ryan) Lougheed; eight great-grandchildren; and life-long friend Judy Niklason.
Maryalice was preceded in death by her husband Jerry in 2017, son Kevin in 2011, parents Roy and Alice Roeber, sister Marilyn in infancy, father- and mother-in-law Sebe and Hilda DeYoung, as well as two brothers-in-law: Warren and Wesley.
