Marylin Yvonne Franks, 80, of Redfield, SD, died Tuesday, March 03, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Marylin was cremated and a memorial service will be Friday, March 13, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Pastor Lorah Houser-Jankord will officiate. Marylin was born October 22, 1934 in Tulare, SD to Walter and Emma (Tubandt) Miller. She graduated from Tulare High School in 1952 and attended business college for a year. In 1968, Marylin married Eugene Franks. They were blessed with three children. Marylin worked at Harry's Egg Station, Eastern Star Home and after retiring she became a Foster Grandparent at South Dakota Developmental Center-Redfield.

During her life, Marylin enjoyed the outdoors including gardening, camping, fishing and building beautiful memories with her children and spending as much time with her loving grandchildren. She enjoyed reading; the "South Dakota Magazine" was her favorite.

Marylin is survived by her children: Michael (Tonya) Franks of Wichita Falls, KS; Victoria (Jeff) McLain of Redfield; and Michelle (Garrett) Franks of Redfield. Her grandchildren: Michael Franks, Jr., Hope Block, Jordann (Adam) Hansen, Terry McLain, Tyler McLain , Joshua McLain, Wesley Rothacker and Christopher Rothacker. She is also survived by her step children: Diana Mae (David) Batchelor, Jim (Tami) Franks, Russ (Lisa) Franks, Beth Franks, Eugene (Tammy) Franks, Jr. and their children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Donald Miller.
