Matthew M. Holm, 53, of Redfield, SD, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at his home. His funeral will be Monday, April 23, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Reverend Stephen Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Matt was born December 30, 1953 in Ipswich, SD to Melvin and Gertrude (Kono) Holm. He grew up in Redfield and attended Redfield High School. After high school he worked at various jobs before attending Sturgis Vo-Tech to learn the carpenter trade. Matt worked on several oil rigs before moving to Redfield and working at the carpenter shop and power house at SDDC-Redfield. He married Linda Kreeger in 1981. In 1999, he started Holm Construction and was self-employed for a few years. He presently was working as a DSPI at the Development Center.

Matt enjoyed hunting, relaxing with his friends and family and listening to music. Matt owned several Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed all aspects of a Harley, from working on them, cleaning them and mostly riding them.

Matt is survived by his daughters: Lindsay Holm of Aberdeen, SD and Carmen Holm of Watertown, SD; one brother: Mark Holm of Redfield, SD; two sisters: Shari (Harold) Campbell of McIntosh, SD and Trudy (Jim) Vickerman of Tucson, AZ and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Steven.
