Maybelle was the second child born to Theodore and Annie (Ronning) Aslesen on August 19, 1930, in Webster, SD. She grew up on the family farm near Waubay. She attended country school in Egeland Township and graduated from Waubay High School in 1948.  She then went on to Presentation School of Nursing to become a registered nurse in 1951.  She worked as a private duty nurse in addition to being a staff nurse in Eureka and Rapid City Hospital, Community Memorial Hospital and James Valley Nursing Home in Redfield, and the  Webster Clinic and Bethesda Nursing Home in Webster.

Maybelle married Glenister Rabuck on March 7, 1953, and made Redfield, SD their home.  They had two children, a son and a daughter who were raised there.  They moved to Webster in 1979 when Glen was transferred with his job.  He retired in 1989 and they moved back to Redfield.  They were married 65 years.

Maybelle was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and was active in Circle, Women of the ELCA, taught Sunday school, Quilting Group and served many years on the funeral committee.  She was also a board member of Bethesda in Aberdeen, SD.

In her spare time she liked to read, sew, garden, do embroidery and counted cross stitch.  She enjoyed bible studies and every year made lefse with her sister or cousin, Ruth.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Steven (Linda) Rabuck and daughter Dawn (Kerry) Baird and brother Stanley (Ardis) Aslesen and grandchildren Jennifer (Donnie) Joyce, Emily (C.J.) Lane, Eric Baird, and Mollie (Chastity) Rabuck and great-grandchildren Keira Wright and Carter Lane.
