Mildred L. Beardemphl, 93, of Redfield, SD, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Her funeral will be Friday, July 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Reverend Marty Toepke-Floyd will officiate. After a time for lunch and fellowship, the burial will be in the Ashton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com
Mildred was born September 22, 1920 to Harry and Vera (West) Siebrecht. She grew up on her parent's farm east of Ashton and attended country school. Mildred married Otto Amzi Beardemphl on July 17, 1940. They farmed near Ashton until 1946 and then bought a ranch near Leola, SD. In 1951, they bought the family farm near Ashton. In 1964, they began spending their winters in Arizona.
Mildred was a member of the Ashton and Redfield United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid, birthday club and Rebecca's. She was a very kind and gentle soul.
Mildred leaves her loving memories to her son William (Charlyn) of Ashton; grandsons: Kelly (Mary) of Redfield; Korey (Roxane) of Ashton; and Kraig (Erin) of Riverside, CA; great grandchildren: Danielle Piehl, Deion Beardemphl, Taylor and Torey Beardemphl, Sophia and Miriam Beardemphl; step great-grandchildren: Shandra Zens and Katlynn Haider, and two great-great grandchildren Lorelai and Adeline Piehl. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Caroline Stover, Alice Groft and Nancy Beardemphl.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Otto, in 1999, her son Amzi Otto in 1941, brother Wayne (Adelaide) Siebrecht, step mother Ella, step sisters: Phyllis and Elva June; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Les and Lydia Wilhelm, Roy Stover, Floyd and Maxine Beardemphl, John Groft, Bertha and Leroy Groft and Richard Beardemphl.
