Mildred "Mick" Harriet Otto, 91, of Tulare, SD, died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Eastern Star Home in Redfield. Her funeral will be Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tulare United Church, Tulare. Pastor Lorah Houser Jankord will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Tulare Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. at the Eastern Star Home Chapel in Redfield. The family will be present during the visitation to accept condolences. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Mildred "Mick" Harriet Otto was born December 14, 1924 at home in Tulare to Otto and Bertha (Marquardt) Haag. She was raised and educated in Tulare. Mick married Delbert "Debs" Otto on March 1, 1941 in Minnesota. After they were married, they lived in Omaha, NE until Debs left to serve in the military. At that time, Mick returned to Tulare. Mick worked at the Hamilton's Café and later operated the Mobil Grill Café, both in Tulare. After retirement, Mick and her husband both worked at the Tulare School.

Mick resided in her own home in Tulare until April 2011. She then moved to an independent apartment and then assisted living at the Eastern Star Home. She moved into the nursing home in October of 2011.

Mick was a member of the Tulare United Methodist Church and VFW Auxiliary. She was very active in her church; attended bible studies, circle and helped with funeral meals. She enjoyed crafts, yard work, reading and she had been an avid walker. At the Eastern Star, she liked going outside, bingo, busy fingers, listening to music, chapel/devotions, happy hour, watching others and playing in the bell choir.

Mick is survived by her son, Randy (Carol) Otto of Redfield and Peggy (Tom) Kuck of Aberdeen, SD. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Scott (Monica) Kuck, Kristi (Bill) Pelegrin, Tim Kuck, Dan (Michel) Otto and Kari (Mark) Naughton; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert; an infant son, Rodney; great granddaughter, Sarah B. Kuck and five siblings.
