Obituary

Mildred Rabuck, 98, of Redfield, SD died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Redfield. Her funeral will be Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redfield. Reverend Brian Wasmoen will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1-8:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Mary Mildred was born April 25, 1910 in Redmond, OR to John and Agusta (Gingrich) Lentz. After several moves from Oregon to Missouri and back to Oregon, she moved with her family, to a farm in Redfield, at the age of five. Her parents and siblings lived on different farms and home in and around Redfield. Mildred attended school and graduated from Redfield High School in 1927. While attending school, she and her sisters helped their father in the Lentz Grocery and Meat Market, which he owned.

Mildred married Kenneth Rabuck April 21, 1929 in Clark, SD. They lived on the Rabuck farm and she helped take care of her mother-in-law, Mabel Schoniger Rabuck for many years. In 1941, they moved to a farm near Cresbard, SD. In 1946, they quit farming and moved to Redfield. She worked at Kenny's Apparel until she retired. Kenneth passed away in 1983.

She loved and enjoyed being around and helping her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mildred is survived by her son Glenister K. (Maybelle) Rabuck of Redfield, two grandchildren: Steven (Linda) Rabuck of Sioux Falls, SD; and Dawn (Kerry) Baird of Redfield. She is also survived by four great grandchildren: Jennifer (Donny) Joyce of Fargo, ND; Emily Baird and her daughter Keira Lynn of Aberdeen, SD; Eric Baird of Redfield and Mollie Rabuck of Sioux Falls and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, two brothers: Dan (Lillian) Lentz and Albert Lentz, four sisters: Marie (Ray) Hilsabeck, Irene (Jess) Morgan, Ruth (Elmer) Bassinger and Esther (Howard) Wilhite and one sister-in-law Mildred (Clyde) Rabuck Muggerud.
