Nancy D. Beardemphl, 83, of Ashton, SD, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Rose Manor Assisted Living Center in Colome, SD.
Her funeral will be Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Redfield. Reverend Marty Toepke-Floyd will officiate. Burial will be in the Ashton Cemetery. After the burial, there will be a time for lunch and fellowship at the Ashton Community Hall.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1-7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com
Nancy Diane was born April 30, 1931 in Ashton to Ray and Gladys (Lambert) Kish. She graduated from Ashton High School and on August 31, 1950 married Richard William Beardemphl, Sr. She made a loving home for a growing family first in Hawaii and then in Kansas before moving back to Ashton where they restored an old family home. Nancy worked many years at Golden Living Center in Redfield.
She enjoyed sewing, crafts, crocheting all of which were given to many family, friends and fundraisers.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Nancy is survived by her loving children: Chrystal (Michael) Canty of Kerens, TX; Richard (Sharon) Beardemphl, Jr. of Ashton; Diane (Alan) Armstrong of Colome, SD; and Amzi Beardemphl of Grand Forks, ND. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, her brother Gene Kish, her sister Marilyn (Dick) Mason and sisters-in-law: Carolyn Stover and Alice Groft as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard in 2009.
