Ola Barnes, Jr., 85, of Conde, died Saturday, November 16, 2013 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Turton. Father Mike Kelly will celebrate the mass. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Conde with military rites. After the burial, there will be lunch and fellowship at the Conde Community Hall. Ola was born August 15, 1928 in Aurora, KS to Ola and Bernelda (Else) Barnes. Ola married Donna Hynes on September 23, 1952 in Conde. In 1962, Ola acquired his business, Motor Service. Ola was a member of the Conde Civic Development Association, American Legion and the Conde Senior Citizens.

Ola is survived by five sons: David (Tina) Barnes of Yankton, SD; Paul (Mary) Barnes of Mandeville, LA; Tom Barnes of Lexington, KY; Mike (Nancy) Barnes of Spearfish, SD; Jim (Susan ) Barnes of Prior Lake, MN; two daughters: Anna (Darrell) Page of Lenexa, KS; Nancy (Dennis) Williams of Rapid City, SD; son-in-law Jim Volk of Valley Springs, SD. He is also survived by his brother-in law Peter Hynes of Crofton, NE; sister-in-law Mary Hynes of Schuyler, NE; nineteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna in 2010, three children, who died of Cystic Fibrosis, Joseph and Theresa Barnes and Mary Volk, two grandchildren; two sisters; Louise Travis and Sandra Sue Lehman and two brothers; Monte B. Barnes and George Barnes.
