Oscar L. Woodfork, 80, of Redfield, SD, died Monday, December 15, 2014 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Oscar was cremated and his celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Oscar was born March 24, 1934 in Doland, SD to Oscar B. and LoVerne (Lancaster) Woodfork. He married Carol Ann Hansen on December 4, 1955. They lived in Redfield, where they had two children, Fay and Rod. In 1979, they moved to Gillette, WY where Oscar pursued a career in the mining industry. Oscar and Carol returned to Redfield in 2000.

Oscar served in the United States Army from 1956-1958. His favorite pastime was fishing. He enjoyed building everything from decks to block walls. He had so much valuable information when it came to building anything.

Oscar is survived by his devoted wife Carol, his children: Fay (Ron) Wolff and Rod (Michelle) Woodfork, his grandchildren: Brook (Matt) Wolff-Coffman, Jamie Wolff, Cameron (Hollyn) Woodfork and Trae (Alex) Woodfork and his two great granddaughters: Scotlyn and Avery. He is also survived by his siblings: Violet, Wayne, Bernice and Loretta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Milford and Wade and his sisters: Erma and Margie.

During Oscar's brief fight with cancer, the family would like to thank everyone who visited him in the hospital. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. Special thanks to Shirley Klipfel for all her love and support.
