Oswald "Ozzie" Darwin Baier, 60, of Redfield, SD died Sunday, May 3, 2015 at his home in Redfield. His funeral will be Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.

Ozzie was born December 13, 1954 in Weeping Water, NE to Oswald and Velda (Dixon) Baier. He was raised and educated in Weeping Water, NE. He moved to Rapid City in 1971 where he met Peggy Friese. They were married on March 31, 1973. They later made their home in Redfield where they raised their children.

He was always fixing something and enjoyed gardening. Ozzie was a member of the Redfield Volunteer Fire Department. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ozzie worked for OK Tire, Spink County Court House, the Spink County Highway Department and Dakota Pork in Huron, SD. Ozzie became disabled and was unable to work.

Ozzie is survived by his wife Peggy Baier of Redfield, his daughters: Kristi (Jason) Fliehe of Tulare SD; and Tracy Roberts of Tulare, SD. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Trajan Fliehe, Tristin Fliehe, Tevin Baier, Tyler Roberts, Talyn Roberts & Emma Baier. Also surviving Ozzie are one brother and two sisters Mike (Barb) Baier of Weeping Water, NE, Linda Baier of Lincoln, NE and Brenda Baier of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Dean, and a brother Larry.
