Patricia D. Bottum, 64, of Tulare, SD, died Thursday, January 22, 2009, surrounded by her family, at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, SD.

Her funeral will be Monday, January 26, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Tulare United Church. Reverend Deb Mack will officiate.

Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in rural Tulare.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6-8:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. There will be an Eastern Star service Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers the family has started a memorial fund in Pat's honor.

Patricia was born March 17, 1944 to Darlene (Peg) and Wallace Fors in Minneapolis, MN. She enjoyed living in Milbank before moving to Redfield and graduating from Redfield High School in 1962. She attended the university in Cedar Falls, IA. Pat married, the love of her life, Richard Bottum September 1, 1963 in Redfield. They farmed southwest of Tulare where they raised their four daughters. She enjoyed all aspects of farm life and keeping the farm and house looking nice. She enjoyed spending time outside with her children and grandchildren and took pride in her large lawn that she kept looking spectacular. Pat was the most devoted mother attending all her children's events. She was a wonderful cook and phenomenal grandma.

Pat was a member of the Tulare United Church, Tulare Order of the Eastern Star, Card ladies group and was a 4-H leader. She was willing to help others and volunteered for most church, school and town events.

Pat is survived by her husband, Richard and their children: Kristi & Dave Artz and Susan & Brett Binger of Tulare; Richelle & Alan Williams of Frankfort and Peg and Dalas Hilbrands of Shakopee, MN; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild: Matthew, Jade and her daughter Regan & Patrick Artz; McKinzie, Austin, Lexi & Ally Binger; Cully, Jacey & Burke Williams; and Ava & Cabot Hilbrands. She is also survived by her brothers: Neill and Dori Fors of Sheboygan, WI, Ken and Terri Fors of Edmond, OK, her brother-in-law Myron Nelson of Lake Wilson, MN; her sister-in-law June Bottum of Tulare, SD; and her brother-in-law John (Cherie) Bottum of Arlington, VA and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family, friends and neighbors.


She was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, Step-Father, Henry Reddies, her sister, Mary Nelson, her brother-in-law Delbert Bottum and an infant grandson.
