Paul Terrence Otto, 76, of Cheyenne, WY, formerly of Tulare, SD, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Denver, CO. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield. Father William Osborn will celebrate the mass. Burial will be in the St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1-8:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home.
Terry was born February 26, 1932 in Redfield, SD to Paul and Blanche (O'Ready) Otto. Terry grew up on the family farm on "Alfalfa Lane" near Tulare and later moved to the town of Tulare. He attended the Garfield Country School and Tulare Grade and High School. He was very active in all sports, but truly enjoyed basketball. He graduated in 1950 and joined the United States Air Force. He went to cryptology schools and worked for the security service in Japan. After he was honorably discharged, he married Harriet Tomsha at St. Bernard's Catholic Church on November 26, 1955. Using the GI Bill, Terry entered the College of Pharmacy at the University of Wyoming. He became a licensed pharmacist working in the retail pharmacy business, and then he worked as a hospital pharmacist for the US Veteran Administration hospitals in Sepulveda, California and Denver Colorado. He served as Chief of Pharmacy in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He retired after thirty years of government service in 1985.
He enjoyed golfing in Wyoming and Arizona, woodworking, decoy carving, traveling and following the University of Wyoming Cowboy Football team. Terry enjoyed life as a whole.
Terry is survived by Harriet Otto, his wife of 53 years of Cheyenne WY, his sister Juliene Johnson of Spokane, WA; sisters-in-law Leattrice (Del) Droste, Geneva Sheflo, both of Mesa, AZ, Linda Tomsha, of Tulare and Pam Leuth of Kansas, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Pauline Stevenson, his nephew Brad Johnson and two brothers-in-law Harry Tomsha Jr and Dr. Jay Johnson.
