Pauletta Mae (Rowan) Canfield, 69, of Redfield, SD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center.  Cremation has taken place and no formal services are planned.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).

Pauletta Mae Rowan was born to Silven and Alice (Crane) Rowan on March 27th, 1949 in Texarkana, TX. Pauletta had nine brothers and sisters. She grew up in the Dallas area working a variety of jobs. In September of 1968, her only child Silven was born.

After her son was grown, you could find Pauletta in the BINGO halls with her close friends. In 1988, she became a grandmother for the first time with three more grandchildren to follow. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow. In 2008, she became a great- grandmother with seven more great-grandchildren to follow.

In 2016, Pauletta followed her grandchildren to live in South Dakota. Due to health concerns, she lived at the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Redfield, where she was visited often by her family.

Pauletta is survived by her grandchildren:  Jason Hardin, Stevie Hardin, Sarah Hardin, and Shawn Hardin and her great-grandchildren: Madison, Silven, Amiyah, SJ, Hendrix, Lilah, Mila, and Rhiannon.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and only son.
